Do you love to visit Walt Disney World? Do you enjoy celebrating Halloween? Then Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party might just be the place for you this fall season. Hosted during select nights from September 10th to November 1st, this event is held in one of Walt Disney World four major theme parks, the Magic Kingdom. The event begins at 7 PM and ends at 12 AM; the park closes at 7 PM on these dates to the people not attending the Halloween Party.

Disney Characters Abound

Tickets start off at 59 dollars, and are often priced according to the date of the party you are attending. Parties on week nights and the farther from Halloween are going to be the cheapest and the crowds will also most likely be lesser on these dates. Many of the Disney characters will be around (even some rare ones), but these will often have lines so plan accordingly, and some characters may even be in costume!

Disney Villains Mix and Mingle

The attractions will also remain open, but the events happening around the park are what the whole party is for! There’s the Disney Villains Mix and Mingle on the Cinderella Castle stage. If you happen to love the villains of Disney, this show is definitely for you. With appearances from Maleficent, Jafar, and the Queen of Hearts (just to name a few), this is one of the highlights of the evening. As soon as they have entertained the crowd, they descend from the stage for meet and greets.

Boo to You Parade

Another event you have to see if you are attending is the Boo To You parade. There are two of them throughout the night, and the second one is often the less crowded one. Before the parade begins the Headless Horseman rides through the parade path. The parade itself is said to be the best parade Disney puts on all year. Candy is handed out at the end of the parade, and candy can also be found at stations throughout the park so trick or treating is encouraged! And so is wearing a costume! Make sure to wear a costume that is both light (Florida is hot!) and easy to walk around for hours in! The most popular place to view the parade would be Main Street, so if you plan to watch from there, make sure to plan ahead!

Hallowishes Fireworks

And of course, last but not least, the fireworks show. It is called Hallowishes and only runs once per night. It does involve Cinderella’s castle so Main Street USA or Casey’s and the Ice Cream parlor are good locations to view it.

Overall, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is tons and tons of fun for the whole family! It brings out unique characters not often seen around the parks, there is trick or treating, fireworks, an amazing parade with some kid-friendly spooky scenes, and you are encourage to wear a costume! How much more awesome could it get?

If you have little ones, make sure you plan the night ahead of time. The party is from 7 PM to midnight and choosing to attend the earlier parade might be a good idea.

Research which days you can go that are farther away from Halloween if you are on a budget as this can save you money.

Remember the attractions stay open. People are often off enjoying the festivities so if there is a ride that you want to get on with little to no line, this is the time to do it!

If you come in costume, make sure it is both light and comfortable. Florida is still warm and humid in these months and you will be walking around.
