The young boy, Rame Masarwa, suffered from terminal cancer cells of the lungs, abdominal area and also back, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office for Orange and Osceola counties. He passed out after riding Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom Aug. 1 2006, was moved to Florida Hospital Celebration and also died that evening, according to records.
A terminally ill 6-year-old boy from Israel checking out Walt Disney World as a last wish died in August after riding Magic Kingdom’s Space Mountain, state documents show.
Rame’s death was ruled all-natural by Associate Medical Examiner Dr. Angellee S. Chen after an external exam and evaluation of his medical history. A metastatic lung blastoma growth was cited as the source.
The Bureau of Fair Rides Inspection compiles injury and health problem records submitted quarterly by Disney World, SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Orlando and also Busch Gardens.
Rame’s mom, that lives in Israel, could not be reached till Tuesday. Christian Cascone, director of interactions for Give Kids the World, can not comment specifically on Rame’s death, except to state, “In cases such as this, I could definitely inform you the families are dealt with. A representative was contacting the family members with help the whole time”.
Other cases stated from the third quarter of 2006, which finished Sept. 30, cited a 37-year-old female who stated upper body discomforts as well as problem breathing after riding Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom in July; a 59-year-old woman which stated a sensation of dizziness and ill after riding Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in September; a 7-year-old gal who had a seizure after riding Spaceship Earth at Epcot in August; a 9-year-old child that was hurt while riding the Swishy Fishies ride at SeaWorld Orlando in July; and a 67-year-old woman who dropped after riding the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man at Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure in September.

Rame’s fatality is the eighth including Disney World trips and theme park destinations in the past 2 years.
A listing of his death appeared in a quarterly compilation of guides of major injuries or diseases at theme parks from the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services Bureau of Fair Rides Inspection. The Orlando Sentinel got the guides Monday.
A Disney spokeswoman claimed Disney also offered assistance to the family members.
You’ve talked to your travel agent, read the guide books, and now you believe that you are ready to experience a family vacation to Disney World with your family. However, for many tourists, this vacation taken the first, second, and even the third time, can lead to an intense sensory overload, not to mention too many dehydrating days in the sun, leading one to believe that they missed a lot of what this wonderful area had to offer. As a Floridian, whose family has worked at Disney throughout the years, maps of all four of Disney’s theme parks are forever burned into my memory as are some great survival tips that you and your family might be interested in.
First and foremost, decide as a family what is most important for you all to see. This will vary with the age of your children and your different interests. However, when everyone can decide on a plan, it’s time to plot out your day. For example, if a trip to the Magic Kingdom is agreed upon, decide which rides you MUST go on. Hopefully, you have obtained maps of the theme parks from your travel agent, your Orlando travel package, etc. so you know which rides are at what park and where they are. If you haven’t already checked it out, go to Disney’s website. It is a very valuable source of information. So, if your family decides that they must go on Space Mountain first, make that the first ride and bypass everything else. There will be time in the day to backtrack. Also, arrive at least half an hour before the park opens. This will give you time to be at the front gates, ready to make a run towards Space Mountain when the park opens. Be aware of what rides have fast pass tickets available. This will also help your planning as well. Since there are so many rides in the Magic Kingdom, you may not get to go on all of them in a day so only go on the rides you and your family have dreamed about and make it a priority to go on only them.
If going on your Disney vacation during the summer, please stay hydrated. During midday, when the sun beats down and reflects on the concrete, it can really feel like an oven. Contrary to popular belief, you can bring your own water bottles and snacks with you into the park. Just bring a tote bag and, though all bags are checked, Disney officials don’t mind if you have a couple of drinks and a pack of granola bars. Just don’t go overboard. Food prices are high at Disney. Water usually costs around 2.00. Also, from 11:30 in the morning until around 4:00, the theme parks are very busy and the day is at its hottest. Don’t overstress yourself during these times. Instead, find some shade and take a break from the day or go on a ride that you hopefully have a fast pass for. Since the lines are also extraordinary long during these times, if you don’t have a fastpass, go on one of the more unpopular rides where the lines are the shortest. In the Magic Kingdom these rides are The Carousel of Progress and the Hall of Presidents
. At Epcot
, the pavilion at Mexico is the best place to go and the little boat ride there is very enjoyable.
Another point that I have to stress is eating lunch and dinner. Please make reservations for the fancier sit-down restaurants because if you do not make them, you will be disappointed. Also, the theme parks only have so many fast food restaurants and around 11:30, these places are packed! Believe me, it is no fun having to wait in line for thirty minutes only to have the only place to sit and eat be directly in the hot sun. So if you can, try to eat lunch around 11:00 or at about 1:30. This way you can eat in air conditioning and not have to wait so long. The same is said about dinner. Eat around 4:30 or after 7:00 to have a relaxing meal.
Above all, have fun! This is why so many families experience the Disney vacation year after year and now you can do it right and have a memorable, great time!

So you’ve finally decided to head to Walt Disney World. With so much to see and do, it’s important to come prepared. Here are some excellent tips to make your trip to Disney World one that will be remembered for a lifetime.
Plan ahead. Decide ahead of time what your priorities are and make a plan of action.
Get to the parks early! It’s amazing, particularly in busy season, how many of the popular rides you can knock off before half the “World” gets out of bed.
Take the time to rest in the middle of the day. Stay at one of the Magic Kingdom or Epcot resorts, allowing a return in the middle of the day for a nap or dip in the pool.
Call exactly 90 days prior at 7 AM Orlando time for priority seating if breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom is tops on your child’s list. The only way you might get away with sleeping in and booking a bit later for this highly coveted character breakfast is if you are traveling in extremely slow season.
Come prepared for an afternoon shower
during the rainy summer months even if the sky looks perfectly clear in the morning. Rent a locker to store your raingear and circle back if skies start to look threatening. However, if you’re caught unprepared, just about every store in the parks sells inexpensive rain ponchos.
Use Fastpass, Disney’s free, nifty timesaving device. It’s offered at all four theme parks and is a great way to save hours of waiting in line. Just insert your park pass in one of the machines located at each individual Fastpass attraction and receive a ticket printed with a designated one-hour window in which you may return and enter a special line with little or no waiting.
Pre-arrange priority seating, Disney’s answer to dining reservations, by calling 407-WDW-DINE. On arrival you’ll receive the next table available for your party size, thus saving hours of frustration and waiting.
Allow plenty of time to reach the theme parks each morning. It’s easy to miss your breakfast priority seating is you don’t allocate enough time.
Be spontaneous. If something catches your eye, even if it’s not on your daily list of things to do, stop and explore. If not, you could miss something wonderful.
Realize the limitations of your children. If they’re tired, take a break. If their feet hurt, get them a stroller (forget that they outgrew one years ago). If a ride scares them don’t force the issue. Such precautions will make your day and the day of other park visitors a lot less stressful.
Bring pagers, 2-way radios, or cell phones. If your party plans on splitting up, they are a perfect way to keep in touch.
Wear broken-in, comfortable footwear. Better yet, bring two pairs and rotate them. Nothing is worse than blisters on your first day and then nursing them for the remainder of your Disney World vacation.
Most importantly, slow down and enjoy the magic. Resist the urge to see everything at breakneck speed. You can’t possibly cover it all, so think of this as your first trip to Disney, not your last. There will be time to pick up all the things you missed on the next go-round.
